Blended - Non-Nuclear Families

What is a Non-Nuclear family? For the purposes of this group, we are defining it as any family household dynamic OTHER THAN husband, wife, and only their biological children (and no other children attached to either adult somewhere else).
As God created us to be one man and one woman, joining as one flesh and procreating to raise humans who will seek and know God like their parents, being a part of a non-nuclear family can sometimes feel shameful; especially if it wasn't our choice. When we experience a broken home (marriage or relationship) and have to consider the upbringing of a child/children with a person who we have such painful experiences with, it is that much easier for the devil to exacerbate just about every aspect of our lives.
However, "where two or three gather in my name, there I am with them" (Matthew 18:20, NIV). God is always with us, but when we gather to glorify Him, lifting each other up and creating/participating in a community of Christ-loving, God-fearing, Spirit-led believers, we are so encouraged to seek and know God more deeply. Most people are familiar with the saying, "you are who you hang around." Well, let's hang out with God!
This group is designed to create a close and lasting community of parents who empathize with the unique and complex struggles each of us faces on a daily/weekly/monthly, sometimes even hourly, basis! We want to educate ourselves in God's word, be Spiritually, emotionally, and mentally fed, become equipped with helpful resources and ultimately, grow in friendships with others to help us travel this journey of particular situations.
If you have any questions or concerns or are shy about joining this type of somewhat sensitive group, please don't be anxious about reaching out! We are here to be a support and encouraging sounding board that aim to, with God's help, provide a safe and Christ-centered haven. We hope to hear from you, for all of our hope is in Christ Jesus!
