Between Here and Home
Community, Family, Military
“Between Here and Home is a Bible study for military spouses navigating seasons of deployment and separation. Together, we grow in faith, build lasting friendships, and discover God’s presence in the waiting.”
Tentative Schedule:
- Arrival: provide snacks, setup chairs in circle, mingle (10-15 min)
- Prayer: pray over time together, led by group leader or volunteer (5 min)
- Group Discussion: Prior to the start of the discussion all members will enter his/her name into random drawing; One group member will then be chosen at random to lead the discussion for that day; any member not comfortable with leading the discussion may pass and the group leader will take over for him/her. The topic of discussion will be assigned at the previous meeting by voting, details to be discussed. *the point of this is not to put anybody on the spot but to give everyone the opportunity to lead a group discussion and grow as an individual (20 min)
- Short Break: bathroom, snacks, stretch (5/min)
- Groups of 3-4: Break into groups of 3-4 for smaller, more intimate discussion. This is where members will hopefully feel more secure in sharing personal testimonies, struggles, successes, and meaningful events of the past week. It will also encourage accountability and strengthen friendships as we get to know one another on a more personal level. (30 min)
- Pray: Group leader or volunteer will wrap up things with a short prayer. This is also the time anyone with prayer requests may join in prayer. 5-10 min
- Game: End with a quick/fun game and submit vote for next meeting’s topic. 15 min
